We had seen a perfect little puppy named Caramel on PetFinder and just had to meet her. As we drove through the wrought-iron gates and onto the grounds, we were transported from a suburban neighborhood to a quaint country estate. Located on 200-acres along the Charles River in Dedham, Massachusetts, the rescue is completely unexpected. The forest sprawled before us, and as we drove further up the hill, a stately white home revealed itself. My heart leapt with excitement and anxiety as we pulled in behind a beautiful barn and parked. We were warmly welcomed by Jill Greblick, and so began our journey to find our ideal pup.

Our adoption coordinators will guide you in the decision making process if we feel the dog you are interested in is not the right fit. Existing pets in the home must be spayed or neutered before we will consider adoption. As we do not allow drop-ins, we'll work with you to schedule a private appointment to come on site and meet the right fit.

The majority of our funding comes from donations and adoption fees. Many of the dogs we take in have medical needs that exceed the costs of their adoption fee. We are always very grateful for any additional donation you can provide to help us continue our rescue work and support the pups who are in need. The following matter is not raised by any of the parties but appears from the record.
Dec 8 Schultz's Guest House: A Sanctuary For Homeless Dogs
As to all defendants it is alleged that their representations were made by them without reasonable grounds upon which to base them and that said representations were false; that had he known the falsity thereof, he would have required the services of competent physicians and surgeons to care for him; that had he known the facts disclosed by the reports, he would have "commenced this action for damages well within one year of the commission by the defendants of the acts and omissions complained of." This type of beginning is unfortunately true for many of the dogs that come to Shultz’s Guest House. But with the help of a truly committed owner, loving staff, and volunteers, 115 dogs have found homes since August 2014.

Shultz, a rescued German short-haired pointer, was the inspiration behind a very unique rescue shelter, one that truly embodies this vision of dog heaven. In honor of Shultz, this temporary place of solace for homeless dogs was named Shultz’s Guest House. And even though he is now gone, his legacy will live on and grow stronger than ever through the hundreds of homeless dogs that will stop over in his fields before moving on to their forever homes.
But despite the story these numbers tell, the journey from homeless to forever home is not a short and easy one. Many of the dogs come from the south, where the culture of dog ownership in some areas is much different than in New England. Many dogs live outside in the milder weather, and spaying and neutering dogs is not always the norm. This results in an excess of homeless dogs and overflowing shelters. Plaintiff alleges that his leg was amputated by defendant Gillis on September 22, 1949, at about midthigh; that he is informed and believes that with the application of the proper knowledge and skill the left leg could have been saved.
We try to provide affordable adoption fees, but we ask that you consider all of the costs (seen and unforeseen) prior to adopting. We know you're excited to bring a new puppy into your lives, but we encourage you to read through our adoption guidelines prior to submitting an application. It follows, therefore, that the demurrer of defendants Shultz and Meier should have been overruled. No shortage of legendary women have portrayed Sally over the decades. But today, I resonate more with this Sally than with any that have come before. And sure enough, in conversations I’ve had with other young women, Rankin’s performance of Sally deeply affected each and every one of them.
It's All About the Dogs.
He alleges that during this time, considerable pus drained from the incisions; that he was almost continually confined to his bed; that he ran a temperature and had chills and was delirious; that during this time his health became impaired and the incisions did not heal. He alleges that defendants should have repaired the artery and nerve, cleansed the infection from the leg and combated the infection of the bones which was present on May 5, 1949, and thereafter. The staff is welcoming, honest and accommodating, and they make what could be a daunting experience feel easy. And most importantly, all the staff and volunteers truly love the dogs. He would wander the grounds with his brother Bronson, welcoming all the soon-to-be dog parents. He was a true representation of what the rescue has become — a loving place where dogs meet before their new lives begin.

He since passed away, but his legacy lives on every time a former stray walks out the front gate wagging its tail – with someone to love. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of these deserving dogs. By making a financial donation today, your support helps create a brighter future for our furry friends. Your donations to Shultz's Guest House directly assist us in covering crucial expenses and keep our canine guests happy and healthy while in Tennessee preparing to make their way to Massachusetts. From providing nutritious food to ensuring medical care to getting the vaccines, tests, exams, treatments, surgeries, spays/neuters, emergency care, preventatives, pull fees, obtaining health certificates for travel, and the transportation expenses for bringing them to a better place where they can find their forever homes. Our mission is to promote the well-being of animals and responsible human-animal relationships.
Maizy is a mixed breed rescue dog – one part Lab, one part Pitt Bull, and one part something that is still a mystery. She had a very rough start — abandoned on the side of the road in Tennessee, flea-ridden, half starved, and infested with worms. But this is a happy story because Maizy was found by loving people, nursed back to health, and brought north to find her forever home. NCHS is a 501(c)3, NO KILL, non-profit, all volunteer organization, committed to the care and placement of homeless animals and feral cats. Fees from the younger, more adoptable dogs help offset the cost of caring for the others.
As is hereinafter set forth, plaintiff's second cause of action, which incorporated the allegations of the first, was also sufficient in alleging facts adequate to toll the statute of limitations. Plaintiff alleges that during the three weeks these defendants treated him, they represented to him that they had severed and ligated only one of the two arteries into which the popliteal artery branches; that it was not then necessary to repair or restore either the damaged artery, or the severed sciatic nerve "in order to effect a cure" of the left leg; that the accumulated blood in the injured leg would be absorbed by natural process; that plaintiff believed said representations to be true and relied thereon. That about March 29, 1949, plaintiff was removed to the Good Samaritan Hospital and placed under the care of defendant Gillis for treatment where he remained for about two weeks; that during this time an anaesthetic was administered to him for the purpose of making skin grafts over the incision in the popliteal space of his left leg. Taking the allegations of the complaint as true, as we are bound for the purpose of this appeal to do, it would appear that plaintiff's leg was amputated on September 22, 1949 and that he first knew of the necessity therefor on September 2, 1949.
[15] Defendants' argument as to misjoinder of parties defendant found in their briefs has no merit in view of the fact that no demurrer was interposed on that ground (Code Civ. Proc., § 430) and in view of the discussion heretofore set forth. 1 of dismissal entered upon the sustaining without leave to amend of all defendants' demurrers to his fifth amended complaint.
