Stray Pets in Need of MA, Inc. was formed in 1991 to promote the well-being of animals and responsible human/animal relationships. Each year over 400 animals are placed in new, carefully selected adoptive homes. We require everyone in the household to be on-site for the meet and greet, including resident dogs, so we can be certain all family members are on board with the decision.

Before opening the shelter, dog pens were built, horse stables were converted to heated kennels, and a portion of the barn was taken over for administrative offices. Each dog that enters the guest house not only has a warm place to sleep and food to eat, they have their own large, grassy pen to romp around in. That's where they meet the people from Shultz's in a Toys R Us parking lot, to make the exchange. Forever Home Rescue New England is a 501 (c)(3) organization devoted to saving the lives of dogs. We follow the rules of Massachusetts regarding the transport, quarantine and adoption of dogs. We try to provide affordable adoption fees, but we ask that you consider all of the costs (seen and unforeseen) prior to adopting. We know you're excited to bring a new puppy into your lives, but we encourage you to read through our adoption guidelines prior to submitting an application. Existing pets in the home must be spayed or neutered before we will consider adoption. But despite the story these numbers tell, the journey from homeless to forever home is not a short and easy one. Many of the dogs come from the south, where the culture of dog ownership in some areas is much different than in New England. Many dogs live outside in the milder weather, and spaying and neutering dogs is not always the norm. This results in an excess of homeless dogs and overflowing shelters. I’ve seen and loved other productions of “Cabaret”; Sally in particular has long been rightly upheld as a high watermark for nuanced, authentic women on stage. Plaintiff alleges that during the three weeks these defendants treated him, they represented to him that they had severed and ligated only one of the two arteries into which the popliteal artery branches; that it was not then necessary to repair or restore either the damaged artery, or the severed sciatic nerve "in order to effect a cure" of the left leg; that the accumulated blood in the injured leg would be absorbed by natural process; that plaintiff believed said representations to be true and relied thereon. That about March 29, 1949, plaintiff was removed to the Good Samaritan Hospital and placed under the care of defendant Gillis for treatment where he remained for about two weeks; that during this time an anaesthetic was administered to him for the purpose of making skin grafts over the incision in the popliteal space of his left leg. Taking the allegations of the complaint as true, as we are bound for the purpose of this appeal to do, it would appear that plaintiff's leg was amputated on September 22, 1949 and that he first knew of the necessity therefor on September 2, 1949.

Please be aware that if you apply for a dog, they may have already found their forever home by the time of your scheduled meet and greet. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and do not hold dogs. Unlike other shelters, we require you to be an approved adopter with a scheduled meet and greet in order to come on-site.
